Create an indicator alert
1
Add the indicator to your chart
The indicator must be on the chart, on the symbol and timeframe you want to monitor, with the settings you want the alert to use.
2
Open the Create Alert dialog
Click the Alert (alarm clock) button in the top toolbar, or press Alt + A (Option + A on macOS).
3
Choose the indicator as the condition
In Condition, select the indicator from the first dropdown, then select the specific alert condition from the second dropdown.
4
Choose a trigger frequency
Pick how often the alert can fire. Once Per Bar Close waits for the bar to close and avoids alerts on signals that disappear before the close. See Confirmed vs Unconfirmed Signals.
5
Configure notifications and message
Choose how you want to be notified (app, pop-up, email, webhook) and edit the message if needed. Then click Create.
For scripts that send alerts with
alert() calls, including all QuantNomad UT Bot scripts, the script sets the message and how often it fires. To write your own message for a strategy, choose Order fills only instead. See UT Bot v2 alerts.Write a useful message
The message is what you receive in the notification. TradingView replaces placeholders in double curly braces with live values when the alert fires. Commonly used placeholders:
