UT Bot Suite includes two scripts. This page documents each feature, with links to the settings that control it.

UT Bot Pro

UT Bot Pro is an advanced version of the original UT Bot. The original compares price with an ATR-based trailing stop to identify trend changes. UT Bot Pro keeps that core, and splits the logic into separate, configurable engines.

Stop Engine

The trailing stop is the foundation of UT Bot. UT Bot Pro lets you choose how volatility is measured: The volatility measure is multiplied by the Stop Multiplier to set the trailing stop distance. Settings: Stop Engine, Source, Stop Multiplier, Volatility Period, ATR Smoothing. See Stop Engine settings.

Adaptive Multiplier

Instead of one fixed multiplier for the whole chart, the multiplier can adapt to market conditions using an Efficiency Ratio. The Efficiency Ratio compares directional price movement with the total distance price traveled over the period. Clean, directional movement gives a high reading. Noisy, back-and-forth movement gives a low reading. With adaptive mode on, UT Bot Pro adjusts the multiplier between a configurable minimum and maximum. This doesn’t predict future volatility or direction. It changes how the trailing stop responds to the structure of recent price movement. Settings: Use Adaptive Multiplier (off by default), Efficiency Ratio Length, Min Mult, max Mult. See Adaptive Logic settings.

Entry Engine

UT Bot Pro separates the UT trend state from the method used to trigger an entry. These modes aren’t ranked from worse to better. They’re different trade-offs between responsiveness and confirmation. Settings: Entry Mode, Buffer Type, Buffer, Confirmation Bars. See Entry Engine settings.

Higher-Timeframe Confirmation

An optional filter calculates the UT Bot state independently on a higher timeframe. When enabled:
  • Long entries require a bullish higher-timeframe state.
  • Short entries require a bearish higher-timeframe state.
The HTF state is calculated directly on the higher timeframe with the same stop methodology. It isn’t a resampled copy of the lower-timeframe signal. Optional background shading shows the current HTF regime on the chart. Settings: Use HTF Confirmation (off by default), Higher Timeframe, Show HTF Background. See HTF Filter settings.

Exit Engine

Exits are configured separately from entries, so you can research them independently. For example, you can compare a classic UT reversal strategy with one that exits at the trailing stop, or one that also takes profit at a fixed reward. Settings: Exit Mode, Risk / Reward. See Exit Engine settings.

Strategy and Backtesting

UT Bot Pro is a TradingView strategy, so every configuration can be evaluated on historical data in the Strategy Tester. A configurable date range lets you test specific market periods instead of the whole chart history.
Backtests are research tools, not predictions. Results vary significantly with symbol, timeframe, market regime, execution assumptions, fees, slippage, and parameter choice. Set realistic commission and slippage under Settings → Properties.
Settings: Use Backtest Date Range, Start Date, End Date. See Backtesting Range settings.

Display and Dashboard

Each visual element can be turned on or off independently of the strategy logic:
  • Buy/sell markers
  • Trend-based bar coloring
  • Trailing stop line
  • HTF background
  • Status dashboard
The dashboard is a compact table showing the current UT state and configuration: current trend, trailing stop value, stop engine, multiplier, entry mode, and higher-timeframe state.

Ultimate UT Bot Screener

The Screener shows UT Bot signals and backtest results for up to 40 instruments at once, in a single customizable table, for the selected timeframe.

Market scanning

Choose up to 40 symbols and the UT Bot parameters to apply. The Screener calculates UT Bot signals and metrics for each symbol on the selected timeframe.
The Screener has its own UT Bot inputs (Key Vaule and ATR Period). It doesn’t read UT Bot Pro’s settings, so set both scripts consistently if you use them together.

Columns

The first column is always Symbol. Choose up to five more from these 13 data columns: “X” is set by the Trade Number setting. See Screener settings.

Filtering and sorting

Each data column can be filtered by a minimum and maximum value, and the table can be sorted by any column. Cells that match a filter can be highlighted. See Screener filters.

Alerts

The Screener can send alerts listing the matching symbols, with or without their values. See Alerts & Automation.

Visual customization

Table position, size, and colors (titles, cells, text, positive and negative values, highlighted cells) are all configurable.
